Canadian Dental Care Plan

The CDCP aims to assist with the cost of various oral health care services and reduce financial barriers for eligible Canadian residents who lack private dental benefits. Some services covered under the CDCP will require pre-authorization before coverage is granted, becoming available in November 2024. The CDCP will only cover services listed within the plan at the established CDCP fees, which differ from the provincial oral health association’s fee guides that providers use.

The CDCP will reimburse a percentage of the cost based on established CDCP fees and your adjusted family net income. The patient’s share of the cost, called co-payments, is the percentage not covered by the CDCP. Co-payments are paid directly to the oral health care provider at the time of treatment.
